Rumor 60GB Xbox 360 To Launch At E3
June 16, 2008 – 4:17 pmAfter much dillying and dallying Microsoft has decided internally that it will announce the long overdue upgrade at E3 next month (the event runs from 15 - 17 July) with a release then scheduled for August.
What has led to these holds up isn’t clear since in pure storage terms there is now pence between the cost of 20GB and 60GB drives, but if I had to place a guess it would be on how the company plans to re-jig its existing line-up. Obviously the Arcade should become cheaper, but it will be interesting to see if it will eventually come with storage or whether the 60GB version will be a straight swap for the 20GB Premium only. Either way, however, with the PS3 making progress in recent months Microsoft knew it had to do something.
