Man I really can’t figure it out

Well today I didn’t really do much. I had some other stuff I had to take care of as well as my brother being sick all day. For the most part I got the link system done, still need to do the admin part of it. The core parts are now done. All I need to really do with them is add new features and content. I’ve been putting off the Reviews/Articles sections because I’m really thinking of either dropping the reviews and moving the articles to the blog. Sadly for the last 2 years hardly anyone to no one have comment on anything posted. Even if I’m not the best writer or reviewer. Still I spend lot of time doing them and people who care so much about Majin Planet should show their support. This is why I stop bother writing reviews for movies I’ve seen because no one bother commenting on the last 5 or so I wrote this year. On top of that those who said they do reviews have either left Majin Planet or went inactive. So as you can tell I’m really waiting to the last moments on what I’ll do with those two sections.

I’m going to be doing a new RSS Feed, basically you’ll be able to get feeds of the last 15 updated pages on the site, long with music videos, streams, news, etc. I’m going to rewrite the whole thing so that’ll be a few days of work.

Most of the core pages urls will change. This is due to how I’m doing the system, which is okay because I’ve kept things in common lines so it’ll be easy to do a few 301s for Googles and other Search Engines to pick up. The last time I did a major change like this was first of the year and Google was quick to update and even index more pages, so I’m sure the same will happen this time around.

I’m hoping tomorrow I get lot more done. I’ll need to finish up a core part of the main page class, as right now some pages with in the entertainment, features, dragonball sections. I’m not sure how I’m going to do it. As I said in the first blog, that I was doing it one way that was harder. Basically I was putting every page of the site into a function call that I cache out to a file. So that I didn’t need to make any MYSQL calls, but it turns out I can’t get functions drymatically and so I opt to make the pages be called and flat file the templates for the pages into cache files.

I think everyone will love the new layout, its nice and flows. As I said its red/yellow/orange colored with your normal run of the mill white/black tones mixed in. Keeping as I always do things, the layout is pure CSS with images used for the banner, and footer. Unlike all my layouts since 2004, I did not make a PSD file with an overall look of the layout. You’ll note that lot of Graphic Designers do this, I mainly made it all CSS base and then made the images in parts, such as the banner is one PSD file, the footer is 2 PSD files, etc. Because its not image loaded it loards very fast and still has a nice look to it. Sure it might not be all flashy looking and crazy like most anime web site layouts, but Majin Planet is not a anime sit.
