Major League II (1994)

Well I have to say that out of all the movies I’ve review this one is one of the funniest. This movie is very old, done a few years ago. However I thought it would be good to review it as for me its one of those movies that you seem to watch every time it’s on cable. I watch it about once a month. I’ll pop it in the DVD player and watch away. One thing I will say is Charlie Sheen is super in this movie. Many people don’t like him as an actor but I haven’t seen him in some funny movies and this one like the first one is on the top of my most funniest films.

Staring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Corin Bensen, these guys are back along with many of the others from the first one are back to hit another home run. I really like the basic idea of this movie, and to tell the turth the first one left you hanging just a bit. At least this one we get to see what happens and then after that. The acting was ok but you know you do the best you can with what you have to work with.

The baseball scenes were done great, and as you know most of these actors can’t play baseball, and at least I know Charlie Sheen can’t pitch like that and it was yout basic run of the mill hollywood speical effect. This movie is one of those super high fly full of computer graphics. Its basic movie with basic effects that for the most part are very beliveable and I was overall happy with it.

I wont lie to you. This movie has a bad story. We really don’t know where were going with until about 30 mins into it and then you see not only is it just a basic rip from the first one, but no more then just the first movie with a longer ending, as the first one left you basically hanging to what happen. I have to say that the actors did a good job with what they had to work with. When something was funny I laugh, when not, I don’t. This movie is not ment to be one of those hardcore films. Its very laid back film.

Overall I think it was done well. There was some things here and there I think need to be worked on. But you have to remember that you need to work with in your buget they give you. My favorite part was the games when things where getting to go. The jokes they did do were good and the fact that Charlie Sheen did gain some weight I mean its almost like a 5 years time past from the first one to this one. Remember that this movie it set one year later and you wouldn’t change that much. We had all your basic element from the first one and again was done very well. But again this movie seem to be just a copy of the first one.

Not to sure how this one goes with the fans. I know for a fact that I like it. My family likes it. But not sure how the normal movie goer does. Remember this movie is very old, like 1994 I believe. So yeah thats a good 10 years ago. I’ll have guys that comment to this review will tell me how the fans took it.

Overall many will say this movie is crap. Most of the hollywood baseball movies are crap. I mean think about it, its just baseball. Yeah I’m not a big fan of baseball, but in any case the one thing that got me on this movie is the comdey which they really need to make more movies like this. The acting was good, the flow of the story was good and for what it was I think it will make anyone laugh. I say if your a fan of any of these actors or just want a good laugh, head down to your local video story and rent it. You can buy on DVD, not to many features for it. I wouldn’t pay more then $10.00 USD for it.
