Alright first off I felt the need to re do the review for this site. Many reasons that well people need to know about it. I also feel that I may or may not have given it a good review the last time I reviewed, plus the site is well sadly not the same site that I reviewed before. Anime Community Column, your number 1 community news source with over 100 reviews. Well let me re count that for you. Its more like Anime Community Media you number one bull shit media source with over 100 reviews not worth your time. I know what your saying, I out right bash them and that is not my style. If anything I had to say it, plus its sign that this is a very bad review. Let me break it down for you with a little past and future time element.

The Past: When I first review this site it was what it claims to be, a community news site. Full of late breaking news no matter what you may think of the owner, it was very good. It had a bright future ahead of it. After well should we say a big problem the site made it thru and was off to bigger better things. However the owner of Ani-CC well like many became lazy and fell to the media bug as I have come to call it.

The Future: Whatever future I saw with in has been lost. Now this has nothing to do with the fact they try to screw me over. No I am reviewing them as a profession here and will give you reasons and example for each on of my claims. Either way the future of this site in my eyes are lost as the site has become like many, a victim of the media bug, a bug that once it has you, your done. I have yet to see any web site owner come back after the media bug has taken them. Once done, they leave with nothing left but hurt and pain. Lets move to the good stuff.

The Webmaster/Staff: Well where should I start here. The owner, the head guy known as anomaly. This guy is messed up. Not only is he known for hacking and well being an out right ass to people. He uses people. He makes claims. that are false. As a news reporter, he lacks grammar, spelling and even common sense. Here is a quote from him in one of his news post, “Hi acc fans i have a special treat for all you media fans out there that have been posting on the forums. I will upload some good media tonight gundam wing the entire series, and fma for your viewing pleasure. also i have tons of media on the way 20 more gigs will be added within the next 2 weeks”. What’s wrong with that quote? Can we make out I’s right? Wait I thought this was a community news site, yet all I see is how they have media now. The staff members, if you want to call them that are his mod’s. People who have the power on the message board. They are not give orders on what to post, he tells them to just post whatever. I know, I was once a mod there. Out of the mod’s he has, only about 5 of them really post news. The owner post most of the news, but he’s been lacking. All I have seen from the site since it reopen a few weeks ago has been what media we have, when it’s coming and how you can get it. Overall the staff and owner are ok people, they are not great people but they have their moments.

Site Design: If the designers of this layout took more time into planning it out, worked out the overall look and then got in there and did it, it would have been a bit better. Overall its not that bad looking at it. They have a nice Naurto theme going which is well something you see all the time, but this one has a old style to it. Which I don’t see to much. For the site being a news site well it looks good for that. Being that its not a news site anymore, now we go into a different picture. The site is media base. I will not lie to you. It change formats but still calls itself a news site. I haven’t heard of any good stories come out since its reopen. Anyway being what it is the layout fits it nice and good. My only problems with it are the coding, and overall look on how it was done. It could be so much better. I really hope this layout gets ripped and they made it better. As on any real site it would be awesome.

Graphics: Poor, out right poor. They come out looking nice. But someone please hit me. I have been told that I have the worst Graphic skills anyone has ever seen. Now I will agree on some points made about that, however even I can see that who ever did this is well more of beginner then you can say that I am. Lets look at how this layout is place together. The banner, is 140K in size… 140K. Now I will say that I have see banner 100 times bigger then this one, but the most I have see them hit in file size is 60K. So why is it so big? Because its a GIF. People there is a reason why we have GIF, JPEG and PENG. Each is met for its own ranges. The size of this banner is so big, it should be a JPEG not a GIF. I bet it would be half the size and look 10% better if it was in JPEG format. All of the image use in the layout are GIF. No JPEGS can be could so many of the images that are hitting 12K which should be 1K to about 5K in size. Now I know millions of people have move to fast internet like DSL and CABLE. But just because the internet speeds that we use have become faster does not give webmaster the right to become lazy and not care about how their images are. Like the code under the page, the graphics look as if they where made by different people. At least I can tell you this wasn’t done using paint, at least I hope not.

Design Code: Who ever did this code need to be put in jail. I ran the code of the main page after you pass the splash page in the W3C validation service. I found 242 errors on the page, not counting its missing the Character Encoding and there is no DOCTYPE. The code is poor. Now I can not list all 242 errors, so I will only talk about the main ones. First off who ever coded this need to learn the width and height tags. God dam, not one image has them. Load this page takes an extra 50 sec to load due to the fact the browser has no idea how big the images are until its full downloaded. The code is some what met for HTML 4.0.1 Transitional but there are a lot non-closed tags. The style sheet is poor, using code that is not standard and well I have no idea what they where thinking here. I really looks as if more then one person did the coding. Some tags are in uppercase and some are in lowercase and come are mixed; mixed I tell you. Yet again we have a site using the leftmargin and topmargin tags. People these tags are not HTML standard and I hope the next run of browsers ban them from working ever again. You can get a much better effect using CSS! They miss a crap load of quotes thru out the whole thing. I don’t even know how the browsers read this. Let’s not forget the alt tags, oh yeah they’re gone. I have looked at a lot of code in my day, this is by far the worst code I have ever seen. When I first start HTML back in 1996, I didn’t know shit about it, and my first page back them using html 3.2 was better then this. The whole code is a mess and it would take a total redesign of this code to bring it up to HTML 4.01 standards let alone if you dare to ask for it to be made into XHTML.

Navigation: Not to bad I will say, out of all that has gone wrong here, this by far stands out. It’s your normal left menu main body type action. You have your basic links to every main section. When you click a link there are links in the body that lead you to the goods. However it does lack on a few things. First off I can’t read the links. The links are some what light brown/gray on a gray background. And people say my navigation is an eye sore? To top it off the normal text is black, so it pops right out at yeah. Really, the thinks should be in black as well or at least bolder so I can see them. There is a small box on the top right, with thinks to new stuff, that fine and is well put. It’s easy to read and well nothing special as every site does it these days. Going around just the main site I had no problems and overall is ok. The board is a different story. Once you click any link going to the board your done. Why? No link back to home. Really, how hard is it to place “Home” Page at the top? Its not and this just shows how lazy the guy is. I remember asking him about it a million plus times and all I ever got was, “I’ll get to it LOL”. Really please fix that, I’m sure people are sick of clicking back until they get back to the home page or cutting the “forums/index.php” part off. This very element brings the score down for this because there is no place like home, really.

Content Quality: Ok I will not say I am the best content writer out there nor will I say that I am better this this site. However. They claim they have over 100 reviews. Which they do, its no lie as I counted them. It just goes to show you that quality is better then quantity. This site lacks quality, all of its reviews are no bigger then my news updates I place every day. Now I do type a lot. I took writing class and I’m a fast types. It would take me about 6 months maybe longer for me to do each review he has done. Each review is nothing more then, going to a site looking around it for 5 min’s and writing down what he thinks. I do that too. But that ’s my notes. It takes me up to a week to do a review on a site. So the day I reach 100 site reviews will be a great day, as I can turn around and publish a book then. There is no news on this site worth reading, as most of it is just crap to great trouble for people and is nothing more then bliss and propaganda. This site is media base, in the last 3 weeks they have done to having about 400 members, which only I would say about half of them posted to now 1300. I’m sure this number will go up once I post this review Why? The only way to gain access to the media, is to join the board and post about 200 times. The site has over 1300 members and they get about 5 replies on the comments of the news. I would say only about half of 200 people post on that site. The most ever on was 800 some people, which was last December and I can tell you that at least 200 of them where guest.

As you can see this site is nothing more then your common media site which more or less is run by a webmaster who is lazy, has poor grammar and is an ass hole. He claim to be a profession news reporter yet he doesn’t know how to capitalize the word “I”. Now normally I would not be to hard on this, as I too have made some bad grammar errors and miss spelled things. I also take a look at the age factor. If your 14 years old. I am not going to get pissed if your site is full of mistakes, you’ll learn. However this guy is 26 some odd years old. I leave that for you to wonder. Now I nothing thing that kina makes me mad and well just proves how much of shit this site is full of when you read how he doesn’t care about hits or traffic, yet I see news post like this, “ps congrats to acc we just passed the million visiter mark”. Now I do not care about my traffic either, but I do check it as you know I don’t want to be working on something that is label as a ghost site. But a million visits? You only have 1300 members, your not even getting close to half of that is news replies but your getting over a million visitors a day or was that week, month or even year. He never states, which is very funny. Anyway I will not disagree in saying he is, but I would say about 50% of that traffic are media leecher’s (people who crave media) are coming there for free media only to learn they have to join to see it so they say “forget that” and move on or they join only to learn they need 200 post to view the media for download, same answer.

Overall this site needs to get back on track, take it how you may this site has some really good elements, its very well known in the anime community and is linked to some of the best anime fan sites out there. I may not agree with how things are run, which is not my say. I am not the owner nor do I have anything to do in its making. As a webmaster and as a fan, I feel the need to tell you that this site has problems, what the problems are, how they can be fixed and why if I can these problems exist. Now no matter how it may be. I would be much happier at this point if the site names changed. Your not a news sites and your sure as hell not the number one news site. People are not coming there for news, they go for media. There not coming for your reviews as anyone can write trash like that. This however is a review I have cover the points, shown you example and point our the mistakes and have give credit when due credit. This site does not do that and well even know they may even hit 5 million visitors by the end of the year. About a million other sites will have past you by and before long a real community news site will open and well you will alone with your media wonder what went wrong. - Uses media to gain traffic
- Lack of news reporting
- Can create bliss and propaganda from time to time
- Lack grammar and spelling
- Webmaster has been black listed as a hacker
- Has been known to place false stories
- Needs new management and staff
