Men In Black II (2002)

Men In Black 2 is one of the those movies that you wanted to see get made but then didn’t like how they did it. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith did a good job in threw roles as Agent Kay and Jay. There was a few things that I think just didn’t make any sense to me as well as some really funny moments that will just crack you up inside and out. All of the old cast from the first have returned for their roles. More of MIB was shown and we got deeper into who each character was and had become over the 5 years since the first film.

Men In Black II takes place 5 years after the first film Jay has reach the point were he missing his old life and how all that he does, no one knows he exist. One after another he flashs one parnter after the other as he feel he must work alone. Jay also has this will to be better then Kay who for years now has been in his shadow. Things take a turn as an a new alien lands on earth looking for the the light of zartha. In order to save the earth Jay must find Kay and restore his memory to unlock the secerts of the light and save the Earth from Serleena.

All of the old cast are back in their roles. Well almost all of them, only a few people fromt he first one aren’t in this one. Will Smith did a great job in his role as I enjoy all the little black jokes and other side jokes he threw in there. The best one was the Black Man Driving Joke, “Well it came with a black dude but he kept getting pulled over..” Or the one when he save everone from Jeff the giant worm. “Oh save us MR. Black man… I ask you nicly move to the next car…” Tommy Lee Jones is one actor that just looks like hes mad all the time but yet he comes accross funny as well. Now not to many people like him as an actor but I think in his role as Kay he did a great job. Lara Flynn Boyle did a great job as the bad guy (or bad girl) She is also a very good looking woman and I’m sure people love her in her role. Tony Shalhoub did a great job as his return as Jack Jeebs. Sadly he wasn’t in the movie that much which I wish to have seen more of his chacter.

WOW just as good as the last one. Very good CGI in this movie. I enjoy the car sences and the end fight. Overall it was very good and I couldn’t really find anything wrong with how the CGI was used. After watching the movie I felt very happy with how it all came together and was very pleased with it. The best effect was the dog talking. Which most of the time it doesn’t look that great. Frank had a bigger role then he did in the first one. The over all effects and CGIs was just great. The Little clones where just funny and watching the DVD and seeing how they put that all together as cool.

Well there isn’t really much to say other then it was just as the first one. They added a litte more of a dram in the film but for me it didn’t go over. They did a real good job moving the story along and it wasn’t so much of just what’s going on I don’t understand this. Oh now it was fun and great seeing that even after 5 years nothing had changed between Jay and Kay. The way they moved the story along was what had happen in the 5 years from the first one to the 2nd one was good. They even change a few characters like Jeebs who had a bigger nose. As to show Jay has blow his head off a few more times over the last 5 years. Like always they had a very creepy twist at the end that well makes you wonder and was well just out right funny. The door opening up to show that they where just in a locker of another planet was classic and just that MEN IN BLACK. I for one enjoy the story and think it was great how they did it.

Finally the film may have not done well overall as the first one as it was lot of just repeat stuff that many would fine to be lazy or just bad filming. I for one was not bothered by it as I loved the film. Yes I even watched the MIB Caroon show when it was on the WB. I for one hope to see a Men In Black 3. Maybe in the next 5 years we will see a 3rd one.
