Unrivaled Source

Unrivaled source is one of the very best web sites that I have ever been too. If anything the name saids it all. No one I have seen has match them in anything. Not even my own web site as I would have to say that I am getting close to them as over the past few months they haven’t added any new content to the site as the webmaster has been gone doing other things. Even so Unrivaled source is one of the very best entertainment/review web sites I have seen in years. One thing this web site does well is that they are out right and tell it like it is.

The Webmaster/Staff: The owner of the site you may know as the fomer owner of The Unrivaled Dragonball Source or Dragonball-GT.com. Yes that is right, like most people in 2003 when Dragonball see fandom came down to its near end, he left his site open but started work on a new project called the crtic. Soon it was named Unrivaled Source. Unlike most peoople his was not a anime site but a review site with a message board that I would have to say is very different and full of some very colorful characters. Even know I would have to say for the most part I hate most of them, I like them as they speak their minds and they tell you like it is. The owner has been very busy and missing as I having seem him around in ages. Nothing more then his staff posting news up and some times updates about their art gallery. As it comes for reviews, nothing new seems to be in the work from him and I have no idea when he will be coming back. But I have to say the staff and owner are nice down to earth people.

Site Design: Kick ass. I would have to say its been almost 2 year that they have been open and not once have they change the layout. That is overall kick ass that someone can keep a layout for that long with out chaning. I for one have been known to change layouts as I grow sick of them very fast. Not this guy, in fact he has done a great job and for the style of site that it is. I can not see any better way to put it. Perfect. My only problems with it is that I wish he would finish things off and maybe make the layout a bit longer or maybe center it as being so far to the left looks a little bad in big browser screens but overall for older computer users it works very well. Once again will have a site as I would label as a Killer web site.

Graphics: They are killer. He has used the right amount of jepgs and gifs here. The sizes of the images are perfect by my standards and by the basic standards of the internet. I would really have to say my only dislike about the graphic use is the gallery where over 80% of the graphics have been label with the sites domain name. Now I really don’t have a problem with that but that is the same as saying you own them or that the site owns them. In which case they don’t own them as they are of anime and manga images. Something I hope they stop doing. But even with that wasn’t at all worth lowering the score for this section.

Design Code: It needs work, it uses out date DocType so there for its not at all vaild html 4.0 code. There are a few mistakes like about 179 of them. Not closing tags the right way, nesting tables wrong stuff of that nature. Because of the miss use of the table tag not being open or not closed right about 50% of the errors would go away if the table nesting was fixed. Also not using thr html code for & has caused many errors to show up in urls and stuff. Like I said about 50% of the errors, almost I say maybe even 60% of the errors would go away if these samll problems where fixed. Which is true as 90% of all html errors can be fixed by fixing one tag or two. Missing the ALT tags and TYPE tags for elemets cause many errors to show up. The main problem is there is no DOCTYPE set which in todays browsers is a must need now. Its standard and I hope one day the webmasters of the inernet will learn this rule.

Navigation: Perfect. Your standard main links go to more links which in return run you to the content. There are two basic menus on this site. The first one is your top menu which links to the main section of the site like games, anime, dbz, and forums. The side menu is broken down more into the content itself. You have each section as reviews which is broken up into the more main sections of the the content followed by the most up to date reviews added. Your basic run of the mill naigavtion menu which it on its own is different as most people play the navigation menu frist not second. Mutlimedia section and to end it off with basic info like the sites poll, login box and stuff. By far one of the easies layouts to move around it and something I think you should check out.

Content Quality: My only problem with the content of this site is that I wish he would say active and do it. Out of all the web sites I have review who have called themselfs the number one source of whatever, if this site added new reviews every week I would not have a problem with them saying they are the number one source. Because the reviews the owner has done is that of high quality and nice and detial much like my own reivews and articles are. I kina have to say I see him as my rival as I want to be just as good as him in writing reivews and articles. He does a great job at it. As I said he own one of my favitore DBZ web sites, the unrivaled Dragonball source and not to let it die in history he has place a dragonball section back up some of the pages using the old layouts he had for the site. Which that right there just makes the content of this site that much more better. Again placing this site as a killer web site and I for one enjoy reading his reviews.

Finally I like to just say that out of all the reviews I have done, this one was the easiest as I have been visiting this site for ages now, going on as long as it has been open for. So I can tell you first hand when they say they are unrivaled, its no joke. Even know they don’t have up to date reviews and all that has been added are from time to time new manga and news post about things happening around the world and Cartoon Network. Once this site picks back up it will take the title as the number one fan source in entertainment. The board is the most active board I have every seen in my life. Unlike most board that are active, who just bitch about site problems, this site bitchs about other things and overall can be very funny and can also be a total ass about itself. The Unrivaled Source get my approve as a killer web site and overall if you want some kick ass reivews, images and/or need a good but kicking to shape you up for message boards; this is your place to be.
